Car meetings are held all over the place, and probably daily, if you know where to look. I was on my Facebook, scrolling trough people's posts and commenting on something that spiraled horribly out of control. None of my doing, at least, I don't think so. But I digress.

I somehow came across this meet that was being held in my city of Plano, Texas and thought: You know, I always wanted to know how my little action cam would handle a car meet at night. So I rolled out, and when I arrived I noticed a high import to domestic ratio. People that know me (or follow my channel) are aware that I lean heavily towards domestic cars, even though I am an import myself. But, I do enjoy a good looking import, and would not mind to have some of them in my garage.

Since this was my first time at that particular meet I felt out the mood first. If I get bad vibes from the crowd I usually don't even bother to film. It ruins the artistic vibe. But everyone was very open, and I chatted with the owner of the S2000 a good long while. If people are willing to share their story I am more than willing to share my take of the evening with a video.

When I came home I noticed this edit was going to be a lot different from my regular car shows. First it was night (and luckily my Sony Action Cam did a pretty good job for what it is) and second there where a lot of sounds I usually don't have to deal with. Yes ruckus riders... I mean you guys... :P

So, I decided to use music to replace the regular audio, and attempted to sync the action on screen with the tunes. Even though the video is only 2:20 long it took me 5 hours from start to finish. Matching up the clips to the transitions took the longest.

I think I did alright for a first attempt. I'd love to get your opinions. In case you are local and interested in attending, this meet is a weekly meet located at the Park / Preston intersection in front of the Tom Thumb.

When I was leaving one of the attendees told me there was another meet in town. But that is for another time.

You're an import? Do you fall under the 25-year rule?

I could be imported legally without having to make alterations to my body due to being 25 years old at import. (actually... strangely enough I was exactly 25 when I left the Netherlands)

Not bad, I like it. I can't listen to it with sound at the moment though, so I can't judge that.

How was the meet? There's one around here but apparently it ends up with street racing and I'm not really the one to do that. Then my friends are always telling me how they have to run from the cops, which is obviously not a good thing either.

It was a pretty sweet meet. No one acted out. The cops rolled through pretty strong and while some folk did bug out after the cops showed I don't think there was anything going on other than "our presence deters shenanigans".

I know for a fact people leave and race, I got footage of a small romp between two cars when I left to go to the other meet I teased about, but I'll probably put that short street race footage on my dashcam channel sometime in the next few days. I did not partake, it was inside city limits at night. No thanks. Besides, I was in the Grand Marquis.

I've been through that area at night and there's usually lots of street racing. In traffic, lots of cops around. Not the brightest people. I'm kind of tempted to check out the meet here, I just might not take my car the first time.

Do it! I didn't take my mustang either. But that was more because the darn thing is out of gas and I don't want to fill it up. Hahaha!

I just wish they were on Wednesdays, Thursday is not a good day for me! And I feel your pain on gas. I filled up the Mach last week and premium was around 3.30-40. Not to bad. I went with my Dad this morning to get gas in the 5.0 and it went up to 3.70. Ridiculous!

That location screams "We race on GWB and DNT on Tuesday nights." Good video, though. Editing isn't bad either. I'd like to see what you could do at C&C.
